about

The story goes that in the mountains of Tibet lived a bird which once a year sang such a wild and magical song that all those who heard it fell into a trance. The bird was captured by people jealous of this gift, but deprived of freedom she lost the power to sing. Without her singing, disorder gripped the land; on her release, harmony will be restored.

lyrics

Listen then child, listen and hear
In the bidding of drums and the kidding of drums
And the soft folds of the pleated dunes
And the undecidable boundaries
Spread out beyond the Great Silk Road
From the jade gate to the hanging gardens
Listen, listen and hear
The story of the song of the bird of heavenly bells
How one of these days the bird will be heard again
Singing, singing her own wild song
Her wild song, song of the mountains
Song of the drifting snow

關在籠中的飛鳥啊
牠不再歌唱
不再歌唱
滿天的雪花
飛舞的雪花
我想飛啊
飛向遠天
